Founded by Scott Bachman in 2003, Strategic Growth Initiative (SGI) was the logical outgrowth of 25 years of Scott's experience high quality custom publishing, printing, graphic design and marketing fulfillment services. His companies included Printing Solutions, The Publishing Group and GraF/X. However after reflecting on the portion of the work he liked most, Scott decided to focus his efforts on providing marketing leadership and business growth consulting while continuing to maintain his network of professional relationships to ensure that his marketing-centric solutions would be leveraged in support of his growth oriented goals.
One of those relationships was with Joseph Barisonzi. As the award-winning director of the Lyndale Neighborhood Association (LNA), Joseph has piloted many innovative and breakthrough strategies. Scott had been a vendor and valuable resource in many of these efforts. When Joseph left LNA to launch CommunityLeader.com during the Internet boom, Scott continued to provide a host of marketing services and web-based solutions.
After working together to benefit several clients, CommunityLeader and SGI official merged operations in 2004, Scott and Joseph have found a unique and growing synergy between a community-based approach to business development and a strategic focus on marketing operations. Joseph serves as the CEO of CommunityLeader.
Today SGI works with business to identify and develop new market opportunities, provide growth strategies and drive marketing-centric solutions. Expanding to include a team of internal associates and fulfillment experts, SGI works as a team of professionals to create, design and implement unique strategies to achieve growth objectives.

In 2007, to provide expanded support to a growing clientele, SGI made a decision to move its headquarters to the San Francisco Bay Area.
